Most of us aren’t eligible for super premium metal credit cards. OneCard (OneMetalCard) fills in that vacuum. It also comes as Lifetime free.
The card is well crafted, sleek and you can feel the weight of the metal in your hands. If you drop it at a corner, you will even see the dent which confirms it is metal.
This is cool novelty card which you can have in your collection, but this cannot be your primary card.
The card is issued by IDFC bank.
The Mobile Application
The app interface of this card is first class. Instead of the OTP system for approval of transactions, you can use biometric (finger print) approval.
The application of this card a fun process. There was a waitlist which worked in an arbitrary way. But this is a lifetime free credit card.
You can use my referral, this will help you go through the waitlist faster and give me 2500 reward points: https://1cardapp.page.link/htKF
1 Reward points on every INR50 spent.
1 Reward point = 0.10 paisa (0.2% reward rate) on statement credit. Reward points on all transactions including utilities and fuel.
No reward points for wallet load (transfer category)
5X rewards on top two categories, however to be eligible you need to spend in at least 3 categories. (1%)
The reward system is transparent, but the reward rate is poor. You could effectively ignore the rewards as this is not enough reason for you to use this card.
The process is simple. You just need to login the mobile application and swipe right on any completed transaction. If you have enough points, it will allow you to pay via points.
When you use the OneCard to pay for fuel, you will be levied a surcharge. This will be completely waived for the fuel transactions made on OneCard.
The advantage here is that all your fuel transactions are free of cost. Most credit cards will only allow free fuel transaction if they are above Rs 500.
With one card you can even fuel for Rs 40 without surcharge.
Additionally, if you do transactions in three categories you are eligible for 1% savings even on Fuel.
In case, you are not able to complete spends in three categories, you can easily buy online insta vouchers for Rs 50-100 or just pay some utility bills.
You will get offers from time to time. Just check the offers tab in the mobile application. The offers are small but lucrative. These are the two offers I have received till date
Spend atleast Rs 1000 and get 5000 reward points. The 5000 reward points are worth Rs 500. Note, there was restriction to not spend in the transfer category (wallet loading) which is quite justified.
Spend atleast Rs 200 to get 2000 reward points. This is a 100% reward rate.
There is no table this time, as the reward rate will always be less than 1%.
The pros are: looks, interface and transparent reward structure and intermediate offers
The cons are: poor reward rate
The rating is 1.5/5
